City tax collector wins lotto

For a Belize City woman and her fiancé, beginning tonight, life will be a little more comfortable. Kristene Eusey, a revenue collector for City Hall, is no stranger to cash, but in Saturday’s lotto draw, the jackpot was all her own. She struck gold with the numbers 8, 19, 23, 24 and 26.

“It’s the ages of different people in my family because we have different amount of numbers with other people’s ages too.”

“Well I have no idea yet. It’s going to the bank first. We have to sit down and think wisely.”

Thinking wisely is not a bad idea with a baby and a wedding on the way. After giving up fifteen percent in taxes, Eusey takes home eighty-two thousand, five hundred dollars.
