Fabio Paredes Dead; Killer Will Face Murder Charges
Fabio Paredes, a resident of Berkeley Street who was shot in both legs over the weekend, has succumbed to his injuries. Belize City police confirmed earlier today that the laborer had passed away while undergoing treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. On Monday, Assistant Superintendent of Police Alejandro Cowo informed the media that Paredes was injured sometime before seven o’clock on Saturday night while he was socializing with a group of men. Two male persons reportedly rode up on bicycle and fired a barrage of gunshots in the direction of the gathering, hit Paredes in the left and right legs. At the time of the press briefing, police had detained one person for questioning. It is unclear whether that individual had been charged or released. That charge, however, will be upgraded to murder.
