Guillermo Salazar Ambushed in San Pedrito

Aside from the fatal shooting of Anderson, there was one other act of gun violence in San Pedro for which the victim is in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. The incident occurred on Tuesday night in the San Pedrito area where a turf war has seen many persons fall victim to gun violence. Guillermo Salazar was returning home with his wife when he was targeted by a gunman who hid in the nearby bushes. ASP Alejandro Cowo explains:

“San Pedro Police visited the San Pedro Polyclinic where they observed Mister Guillermo Salazar with an apparent gunshot wound to the back and to the front of his stomach area. He was admitted in a critical condition and flown to Belize City and is in a critical condition at the K.H.M.H.  What we understand is that Mister Salazar was walking on San Pedrito Road along with his wife when about to approach his yard; a male person came out from the nearby area and fired several shots at his direction causing the abovementioned injuries. So far, police have not detained anybody and there’s no motive as to why he was shot.”
