Crazy Highway Vehicle War between Robbers, Police after Robbery

There was a daring apparent robbery on the George Price Highway this afternoon. A delivery truck for a business from Belmopan was the alleged target. Police, responding, apparently set up a checkpoint to intercept the robbers, and shot one multiple times to the foot. The robbers’ vehicle, a Dodge Nitro, sped off and police made a pursuit, but the culprits lost control of their vehicle and it flipped near mile thirty at the entrance to La Democracia Village.  But the story gets stranger, as another truck is said to have stopped to render aid and it too was held up. The robbers apparently took control of that truck and sped off. Police are still gathering details as of news time, but we are told that a major Belize City gang is said to be behind the heist.
