Brothers Habet Ltd. Supports South Side Police Officers
Even before that meeting with UNO Sales Consultant Lupita Zetina, Gillett met and signed off on an agreement with Carlo Habet, the manager of Brothers Habet Limited in Belize City. The agreement will see police officers on the south side getting fifteen percent discount on all items sold at Brothers Habet. Gillett says they are also working on assisting officers who commute daily for work.
Sr. Supt. Howell Gillett, Regional Commander, Eastern Division South
“We are meeting with some of the bus owners because we see on a regular basis that police officers are commuting and they are hitchhiking at very late hours and it is very dangerous for them. And we want to enlist the support of the different bus companies to help our officers with a reduce price. I know other people would say that we have it as bad as officers, but these officers are asked to work in some very precarious situations. They are asked to work in some very precarious situations; they are asked to work for twelve hours, they are asked to work in very dangerous situations and the least we can do for them is show them that we do care and offer the best that we could. It’s not everything that we could offer—we can’t promise the sky—but whatever we can do for them we will continue to do to have them treat the public in a better way, to give their optimum while on duty.”
