Suspect charged in last week’s shooting
In crime news, Belize City police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a shooting last Thursday. Nineteen year old Dalton Reneau of a George Street address has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm and deadly means of harm. The charges stem from an incident on Friday night when twenty-two year old Dennis Gladden Junior was shot in the face, while he was standing near the corner of King and Tigris Streets.
Meanwhile, the cops are looking for three bandits who held up a Belize City businessman in the middle of the day. Just after noon on Wednesday, Jing Pei-chen reported that three men, one of them armed with a handgun, walked into his shop and put a gun to his head. The thieves demanded money and Jing handed over four hundred dollars. Despite the busy setting, the men have yet to be identified, let alone detained. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the nearest police station.
