Body in Benque has two countries investigating
As Belize City police look for suspects in the latest killing, the police departments of Guatemala and Belize are working together to solve a murder that took place about a quarter mile inside Belizean territory. According to police, around 9:30 on Tuesday morning, a contingent of Belize and Melchor police visited the area. There, they came upon the lifeless body of thirty-three year old Carlos Tut. Tut, a resident of Suchitan in Melchor, was apparently shot several times in the face and back of the head. Police would not comment on the investigation, but report that both country’s authorities are working to find out what Tut was doing in Belize and what could have possibly led to his murder. The body has been transported to the San Ignacio hospital, where it awaits a post-mortem.
