Victim of traffic accident succumbs to injuries
Almost one month after twenty-three year old Tanya Smart was left in a coma following a traffic accident on the Northern Highway; tonight we regret to report that she has died. Smart succumbed to her injuries over the weekend while undergoing treatment in Merida. On September eighth, Smart was travelling home to Lord’s Bank Village when upon reaching mile eight she lost control of her car and smashed into a tree by Williamson Industries. At the time of her accident, Smart worked in the customer relations department at Belize Water Services.
