Bail for Dumped Shotgun
Ignatius Williams today obtained bail on a charge of possession of a prohibited firearm in the Supreme Court. The twenty-four-year-old, a repeat alleged offender originally from Dangriga, was seen by police riding against the flow of traffic on Cemetery Road on March twenty-second, coming from the Pound Yard Bridge. Upon seeing police, he turned around, arousing police’s suspicions. As police chased after him, he left his bicycle on the street side and threw an object under a white pick-up before fleeing into a yard on Mosul Street. Williams managed to escape, but was later arrested and charged. The object was found to be a home-made shotgun. Supreme Court Justice Collin Williams set bail of five thousand dollars with the condition that he must report to the Mahogany Street Police Station every Friday until the case is complete. He returns to court on May tenth.
