Cops bust weed plantation near Red Bank
Colombian cocaine may be the international drug runner’s narcotic of choice, but that hasn’t discouraged Belize’s law enforcement authorities from busting an occasional marijuana plantation. On Wednesday a police operation in the Stann Creek District resulted in the discovery of a pot patch two miles south of Red Bank Village. Don’t ask us how they do it, but officers counted exactly one thousand, three hundred and two mature plants, between six and seven feet tall. No marijuaneros were discovered, however, let alone counted, but the weed was uprooted and burned.
