Corozal man charged with kidnapping ex-girlfriend
A Corozal man, twenty-six year old Pedro Gongora, accused of abducting his former girlfriend, has been charged with kidnapping and rape. Also charged, for harbouring a criminal, were Oscar Briceño, Elena Briceño, Waldo Tapia and Claridalma Narvaez, all of Corozal Town, while Tapia and Narvaez were additionally charged with abetment to kidnapping. The kidnap victim had been reported missing from her home over a week ago and has since been returned to her family. Gongora’s problems do not end with the kidnapping charge, as he has also been charged with four counts of burglary and one count of handling stolen goods.
