Peruvian Photographer Featured in Exhibition
At this hour, an exhibition called “La Mirada de Chambi” is opening at the Mexican Institute in Belize City. It is a photography collection by Peruvian artist Martin Chambi which documents indigenous life in Peru. The showcase is being held to mark the visit of the Peruvian Ambassador to Belize Jorge Roman Morey. Hugo Juarez Carillo tells us more about this exhibition being put on jointly by the Mexican Embassy and the Honorary Consulate of Peru in Belize.

“It is a group of forty-nine pictures of good format of a Peruvian photographer. This is Peruvian photographer from the twentieth century. He was born in the thirties and deceased in the sixties. He was Quechua photographer and he portrays the life of indigenous Mestizos, as well as white people in the Peru that he lived. As well, of the inter-culture in that time.”
