Suspect Sought in City for Dangriga Murder
Police are still puzzling over Friday morning’s murder of Gabriel Tex Laurie Junior in the Wagierale area of Dangriga Town. The forty-two-year-old was found seated inside the living room of his house with a gunshot wound to the center of the neck. Police are actively searching for one person of interest who is said to have left Dangriga for Belize City.
ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C. CIB Eastern Division
“The murder in Dangriga Town occurred on Friday the twenty-seventh of April, 2018, sometime after ten in the morning. Police responded to shots being fired in the Wagierale area and as a result, police visited a house which was being occupied at the time by Gabriel Tex Laurie, Junior, a forty-two year old Belizean. Upon arrival, police observed that the person had gunshot wounds to the body. The person was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. What police has gathered so far is that Mr. Laurie was inside the house when a male person entered the house and fired several shots in his direction. At this moment, we do not have a motive behind the shooting. I know that there were three persons detained, but they were released after they were interviewed and no further information was obtained from them.”
