Armed assault leaves shopkeeper in coma
There is much less mystery surrounding another shooting that occurred Wednesday in Belize City. Forty-eight year old Ming Xong-stun lies in a coma at the K.H.M.H. after being knocked in the head during the course of a robbery. According to police, around 4:15 in the afternoon a number of men entered Ming’s shop on Raccoon Street. After hitting him over the head with an unknown object, his assailants proceeded to take an undisclosed amount of money along with Ming’s licensed thirty-eight revolver. Quick work by police, however, led them to a house on Neal’s Pen Road where they recovered the stolen weapon. Four men have also been detained in connection with the crime.
