Comedy show comes to city on Thurs.
They say laughter is the best form of medicine, and whether that is true or not, Curtis Gillett Productions has put together one show that promises to uplift your spirits. Today, Gillett stopped by News 5 to talk about the show, Laugh-O-Rama, that takes place Thursday night inside cinema one at the Princess Hotel.
Curtis Gillett, Organizer, Laugh-O-Rama
“Well, it’s a comic relief Belizean style. At the same time it’s to give our local comedians a chance to showcase their comedic side. Not much of that sort of thing happens here in Belize, so I’m giving it a try. Depending on how it works out, we’ll do it on a more regular basis.”
Jacqueline Woods
“Is this the firs time you all are doing something like this?”
Curtis Gillett
“Yes and no. Yes in the sense that under the title Laugh-O-Rama, under my production in association with the Princess Hotel and Casino. No, in the sense that back in 2000 we had done something similar at the Backyard Theatre. At that time it was “Antics eena the Backyard Theatre”. So it’s just different names, different people involved.”
Jacqueline Woods
“Okay, who are involved in this production?”
Curtis Gillett
“Well for tomorrow night there’ll be myself, John Alexander Watler, Floris Hendy and a gentleman John Palacio, who is also known as Johnny the Tailor. So it will be a nice show for tomorrow night.”
The curtain goes up at 9:00 p.m., so be on time. Tickets for Laugh-O-Rama are ten dollars at the cinema booth.
