Hunting accident leaves victim critically injured
A man lies in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after he was mistakenly shot during a hunting trip. Sometime on Tuesday night, forty-one year old Rogelio Coh and thirty-one year old Jesus Pott of Guinea Grass decided to go hunting about three miles outside of the village. According to Pott, as they reached their destination he and Coh went their separate ways. But around 9:30 that night, Pott told police that he saw something move in the bushes. Thinking it was a deer, Pott said he aimed and fired his shotgun. But instead of hitting an animal, Pott struck his friend. Coh, who sustained injuries to his face and left shoulder, was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital and later transferred to the K.H.M.H. The police have since detained Pott pending the outcome of their investigation.
