“Over the past five months, Belize Hurricanes has progressed tremendously. We are on a five-game winning streak, dating back to beating San Pedro and then last week Monday, we beat the Defenders. And so Hurricanes is peaking at the right moment. So I feel very confident with the team going into the playoffs, knowing that all the key players are playing at the highest level. And then now we have Devin Daly to compliment what we already have in regards to achieving our goal which is to win a championship again for Belize.”
Duane Moody
“So what’s the strategy; without of course leaking that to the other team? What’s the strategy for the games to take home the championship?”
Gilbert Gordon
“Hurricanes don’t share their strategy, but what I can tell you is that Hurricanes has been playing excellent defense; we are like the number one team in defense right now and we are also number two in offense. So Hurricanes, our main thing is to play solid defense to ensure that we try to minimize as much as possible in regards to shots and everything. And also we are focused on the offensive end, running sets and everything. So our strategy is to ensure that Belize on a whole gets another championship from 2016; we wanna win this year.”
Duane Moody
“And then the last question in terms of the competition tonight with the Dangriga team. Any comments on what your anticipations are?”
Gilbert Gordon
“Well for tonight, what I can say is because we are peaking at the right moment and adding Devin to the lineup, I personally want to think that the Hurricanes is in a great position in regards to winning the championship for this year. And so tonight is going to be a nice family oriented atmosphere.”
Devin Daly, Basketball Athlete
“Honestly I neva really di follow them much. I feel like I have enough ina mi head about weh Griga have and weh we have so it should be a good game tonight.”
