How You Can Be a Leader

For a third consecutive year, Chamberlain Consulting has embarked on hosting a leadership conference in Belize. Leadercast Live takes place in Atlanta, U.S.A., but is simulcast to over a hundred locations worldwide, with Belize being only one of five Caribbean countries doing it. It’s a conference for everyone: students, public and private sector reps, as well as entrepreneurs and this year the numbers increased to over two hundred and fifty persons participating. The conference surrounded topics of overcoming obstacles, keeping it simple and not losing sight of the goal. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Leading Yourself,’ which Chief Implementation Consultant Theresita Perez Martinez says is to inspire and motivate participants.

“We brought it to Belize through our partners in Barbados, CILC, and they invited us because they believe—just as we do—that there is a leadership vacuum—not just in Belize or the Caribbean, but in the world. And so how can we inspire and motivate people to want to be leaders, which is awesome for our theme this year, which is “Leading Yourself.” So how do we focus on you, how do you take care of yourself spiritually, mentally, health-wise in order for you to be able to lead other people, because if you are not in a good frame of mind then you lead by example and your people follow that.”
