Accused Fraudster Nabbed by Police in Maskall
Thirty-six-year-old Luis Velasquez faces judgment in the Supreme Court for a debt owed to a company even as he faces potential charges for alleged fraudulent activity. On the strength of an all points bulletin, police picked up the bartender in Maskall Village on Friday and immediately brought him before Supreme Court Justice Sonya Young. She sent him to the Central Prison on a committal warrant for owing forty thousand dollars to L and R Liquors based in Orange Walk Town. Today, he re-appeared without an attorney and continues to be held pending the court’s judgment. Velasquez is said to be facing multiple complaints to police from persons who allege that he swindled them. Velasquez teaches bartending on a Facebook page named “Mixology,” where people would request service and then pay him. No date has been set for the ruling.
