Gunmen injure two on West Canal

Story Picture
Shots rang out again in Belize City in the wee hours of this morning. According to police, three gunmen with automatic weapons sprayed two houses on West Canal with bullets leaving two people injured. The shootings, which occurred around 3:30, left twelve year old Victor McKenzie with a hip wound and in the second house eighteen year old Leon Soberanis was hit in the face and leg. Both victims were asleep at the time and later admitted to the K.H.M.H. in stable condition. Police counted twenty-six expended five point five-six shells at the scene. At this time a motive for the shooting is unclear and police are not sure if the injured were the intended targets. They are looking, however, for one Arthur Young in connection with the incident.
