G.O.B. Accepts ex-Contractor General’s Reports

Godwin Arzu

On Thursday, the DPM also gave us an update on the Contractor General. If you’ll recall, Godwin Arzu’s contract was not renewed and his replacement has not been announced.  Arzu had failed to submit reports during his tenure, but reports had circulated that last month he attempted to hand in those reports, but was turned away because he is no longer the Contractor General. But Faber says that the matter was discussed in Cabinet and that Arzu submitted six reports.

Patrick Faber

Patrick Faber, Deputy Prime Minister
“I believe the Prime Minister indicated on Tuesday that the reports were accepted; they were handed in and accepted. I don’t know how anybody else can hand them in when he was the Contractor General over the period, so I don’t know that anybody else can make the report. What you are saying to me is news that they are disputing that he actually has the authority to hand them in now; but as far as I understood it the reports are being accepted and we go from there.”

Reporter
“Does that mean that he will be reappointed?”

Patrick Faber
“Well, that is a decision we still have to make. I don’t know that we are there.”
