Gov’t Warns of Oil Situation; Regular and Diesel Hiked

Barely two weeks after the last change, there are further changes to report tonight in relation to fuel prices, which take effect at midnight on Wednesday. Premium gasoline moves down from eleven dollars thirty-nine cents to eleven dollars thirty-six cents, a difference of three cents, and kerosene moves down to seven dollars and seventy-five cents from seven dollars and eighty-seven cents for a decrease of twelve cents. However, regular gasoline climbs up to eleven dollars and fourteen cents, up ten cents, and diesel rises by eleven cents to ten dollars and sixty-cents. The government attributes the increases to steady increases in world oil prices as summer demands take hold and producers are failing to keep up with supply. While G.O.B. is working with PUMA to keep costs down, continuing issues in the Middle East, Iran and Venezuela, are threatening to keep prices rising. The government promises to monitor the situation and work with all involved to ensure that any increases are kept to a bare minimum and remain for the shortest possible time.
