Watchman fails to foil Belmopan burglars

Tonight Belmopan police are investigating a robbery on the Hummingbird Highway that occurred late Sunday night. They report that around midnight seventy-three year old Hilberto Santos, a watchman for Bee Leaf Enterprises was working on the property when he saw a man standing near the company storeroom. Santos told police that when he approached the man, two more came out of the building. It was then the lookout took out a weapon and fired a shot in Santos’ direction. The elderly security guard managed to escape without injuries, but the jackers got away with approximately twenty-six hundred dollars in company goods. At news time tonight, no one had been arrested in connection to this incident.
