Man freed of Use of Deadly Means of Harm charge on birthday.

Also in the courts, Haulze Street laborer Mark Gentle, turned twenty-nine today and got a good birthday present when he appeared in the court of Justice Oswell Legall. A nolle prosequi was entered by Crown Counsel Cecil Ramirez freeing Gentle of the Use of Deadly Means of Harm charge. The case fell through because the complainant, Alden Augustine, indicated that he did not wish to testify. Gentle was charged in connection with shooting around nine-forty-five p.m. on July sixth, 2007.Augustine reported that he had just left the M.C.C. Grounds after playing football and he was on Victoria Street when he heard gunshots and realized he had been hit in his right thigh. According to Augustine, he saw Gentle, A.K.A. “Big Mac”, pointing a firearm at him before running off. Gentle was initially charged with Attempted Murder and Use of Deadly Means of Harm but the other charge was with drawn after Augustine’s injury was classified. The root of it all seems to have been a love triangle because Augustine claims Gentle had accused him of having an affair with his girlfriend.
