Police Make Weed Bust in the City

A twenty-year-old hospital attendant of Belize City was arrested and charged with drug trafficking. On Thursday night, just before eight-thirty, members of the Mobile Interdiction Team were on patrol in the Faber’s Road area when they stopped and searched a backpack that Travane Trapp was carrying. Police discovered a little over seven and half pounds of cannabis inside the bag. Today, Trapp appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s court and pleaded guilty to drug trafficking.  He was fined three thousand dollars as well as the cost of court which must be paid by October thirty-first; in default, Trapp will spend one year in prison.
