Electrical Fault Claims Home of Caye Caulker Family

The third fire occurred on Saturday night on Caye Caulker. A family of six remains homeless tonight after the wooden structure they called home was completely destroyed by an electrical fire just before nine p.m. Fire Station Manager Smith gives an update.

“At approximately eight-forty-five p.m., the National Fire Service received and responded to a structural fire on Langusta Street in Caye Caulker. On arrival on that scene, an approximate eighteen by eighteen plycem structure was seen fully engulfed in flames. That fire destroyed the structure. Preliminary investigations reveal that the cause of that fire was due to electrical fault. There was a family of six living in that structure.”
