O.W. woman dead in hit and run
A hit and run over the weekend has left an Orange Walk woman dead and police searching for the driver who killed her. Around 8:30 Sunday night the woman, identified as Maria Garcia, was walking down the Otro Benque Road during a heavy rainstorm when she was knocked down by a passing vehicle. That vehicle, which has yet to be identified, did not stop. Garcia was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital and later transferred to the K.H.M.H., where she died during treatment. Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the vehicle or driver.
