One of Belize’s most wanted is behind bars tonight. Twenty-eight year old Dean Augustine of San Ignacio was handed over to Belizean police on Wednesday by their counterparts across the border in Mexico. Augustine, who was apprehended in Chetumal, was wanted in connection with the April twenty-seventh robbery in San Ignacio of almost one hundred thousand dollars in cash and cheques. Four of the five suspects in that heist had already been arrested, namely Karim Ara, Kurt Morgan, Alexander Laing and Lionel Henry. Augustine will now join them in Magistrate’s court where they are all charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary and handling stolen goods. Laing and Augustine will be additionally charged with damage to property, wounding and aggravated burglary.
