Edward Bowen is Charged for Teen’s Rape at Mango Fest

A Hopkins’ resident is tonight out on a five thousand-dollar bail having been accused of raping a seventeen-year-old student at the Mango Fest held over the weekend in that southern village. On Saturday evening, the minor reported to Hopkins Police that around three-thirty p.m., she was raped in a bathroom by a man she knew as Edward Bowen. A medical examination conducted on the teenager confirmed that she was carnally known and by Monday, twenty-two-year-old Bowen was formally arrested and charged for the crime. He was arraigned on Tuesday in the Dangriga Magistrate’s Court for rape and has since been released on bail.
