Roaring Creek man charged with wife’s murder
A man detained in the beating death of his common-law wife has been charged with murder. On Thursday night forty-one year old Gilbert Mayen allegedly got in a fight with twenty-six year old Pauline Williams after which both went to sleep. When Mayen woke up he found his wife dead. A post-mortem determined that Williams died of internal bleeding caused by a ruptured liver and broken ribs.
