Accused murderers appear in court

Story Picture
The two men accused of murdering four Belize City residents were back in Magistrate’s Court today. This morning, Patrick Robateau and Leslie Pipersburg were brought before Magistrate Dorothy Flowers as part of the legal formalities in their case, but the hearing was adjourned until September thirteenth. Accompanying the men was their attorney Simeon Sampson. Police contend that on the night of June eighteenth, Pipersburg and Robateau, at the time both employees of Bowen and Bowen, stole the company’s sales for the day, and in the process shot three security guards, killing two of them. A man and woman were also shot to death in the Coral Grove area when the alleged gunmen attempted to steal their car. Pipersburg and Robateau were apprehended near Tijuana, Mexico in a routine immigration check and were identified as murder suspects when they were brought to the Belize Embassy in Mexico City on July ninth. The duo now face four counts of murder, attempted murder and robbery.
