Villager kills man he claims robbed him
A Corozal man has been charged with murder after he killed a man who had allegedly stolen from him. Twenty-one year old Roberto Sanker of Carolina Village in the Corozal District was chopped in the head Thursday afternoon and died early this morning at the K.H.M.H. His assailant, thirty-five year old Andrew Pirtu, reported to police that his house had been broken into and a quantity of tools had been stolen. He believed that Sanker was the thief and when Pirtu located him a fight broke out, in which Sanker suffered the chop wound. Pirtu has been remanded to Hattieville pending trial.
