Foiled Robbery on King Street; 1 Man Detained

A police officer’s quick action foiled a robbery in progress in the downtown area today. The brazen robbery in progress happened shortly after ten this morning in front of a music outlet on King Street and it was all captured on surveillance cameras.  The perpetrator walked up to a parked vehicle and pulled open the driver’s door of the SUV. He attempts to rob the driver who was sitting behind the wheel. But, a police officer was inside another parked vehicle just in front of the SUV and saw what was happening. The cop got out of his vehicle, took out a firearm and approached the robber.  But the assailant spotted the officer and he ran off into an alley of King Street. From the footage, it appears that the robber had an accomplice, who also dashed away when the officer exited his vehicle. But the accomplice wasn’t quick enough for the fast acting cop because moments later, he emerged from the alleyway with the robber’s partner in crime. This, as you can see, is what was garnered from the surveillance footage. The victim of the attempt robbery wish not to make any comment on the ordeal.
