Civic Center is Green lighted for Use as EOC at Disaster Time
With the hurricane season now underway, concerns about the use of the new Civic Center as the Emergency Operation Center for CEMO have been put to rest. Late on Thursday, NEMO sent out a release stating that “Minister of National Emergency Management Edmond Castro and officials from NEMO and CEMO agreed that the Civic Center, in the event of a major disaster, would be utilized as headquarters for the Emergency Operations Center , among other things.” The release was prompted by the vague statement Castro made when asked about the request by CEMO.
