Trio of Mexicans Facing More Charges for Theft of Credit Cards

From the Court of Appeal to the Magistrate’s Court…more charges were brought today against three Mexican nationals who are already facing charges for theft of credit cards from the Atlantic Bank. The trio is made up of thirty-one-year-old Lionel Rodriguez, twenty-six-year-old Belen Hernandez and twenty-one-year-old Joscan Jafet Hernandez. The couple appeared once again before Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser this morning. Belen was charged with twenty-three counts of theft, while Joscan was charged with only three counts. In the case of Rodriguez, he appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford and charged with twenty-nine counts of theft. The charges are for credit card scams that occurred between December 2017 and January 2018 at Atlantic Bank branch in Ladyville and on Albert Street in Belize City. The trio returns to court in August.
