Ambassador to Guatemala recalled?

There is a swirl of controversy tonight surrounding Belize’s Ambassador to Guatemala, Moises Cal. Official confirmation could not be obtained, but following initial reports on Krem Radio we were made to understand that Cal has been recalled from his post in Guatemala City, allegedly for major diplomatic gaffes committed on Friday. However, News 5 spoke to Cal late this evening and he professed to have no idea of any such controversy. He says his trip home is a routine consultation and he will be meeting with his boss, Foreign Affairs Minister Assad Shoman, tomorrow morning. Our attempts to contact Foreign Affairs C.E.O. David Gibson were unsuccessful and it is hoped that some explanation will be provided on Thursday.
