What’s the Theme for This Year’s September Celebration?
The national September celebrations are quickly approaching and earlier this month we told you about the invitation for submissions for the theme for this year’s September Celebrations. The theme, which will be displayed on all the marketing publications and banners, will help to commemorate the two hundred and twentieth anniversary of the Battle of St. George’s Caye and the thirty-seventh anniversary of independence. The deadline for submissions is on Friday and NICH wants you to get creative and nationalistic with the theme. Neil Hall tells us more.
Neil Hall, Communications and Marketing Officer, NICH
“The theme actually ends this week, on Friday at five. If you have to physically take it in to the Bliss and they will gladly accept it there, otherwise take it in to any of the houses of culture in your district. They will gladly accept from you there and let us know they received it in time. The theme carries a one thousand dollar cash prize and it is very easy when you talk about it in relation to a song, it has to be ten words or less and convey what is happening in the country right now. What is happening in 2018 and how best we can put that forward as a community, as a nation and as patriots.”
