Is Abducted Businessman Omero Campos Still Alive?

Omero Campos

San Narciso businessman, Omero Campos is still nowhere to be found after having been reportedly kidnapped ninety-six hours ago. The proprietor of Henry’s Store in the village left his house en route to his farm in San Victor Village, which is well known for illicit activities and contraband activities.  Later that day, his alleged kidnappers called his family from a Mexican phone number demanding a million-dollar ransom. The last case of kidnapping was that of Ramon Cervantes Senior, whose body was discovered in a shallow grave in a farm near Honey Camp three days after he went missing on July first, 2014. The Campos family fears for his life and theirs and have remained tightlipped, but the police there has been one conversation with him.  The deadline for the delivery of the demand has passed and the family remains concerned about the well-being of the forty-three-year-old businessman. Deputy Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says that the department has enlisted the assistance of their Mexican counterparts because there have been reports that he is being held across the border.

“Mister Campos remains missing and from all indications he has been kidnapped. We have police officers still on the ground canvassing to see what can be picked up to be able to assist us in that investigation. Hopefully that may be able to lead us to his return safely home. There are several things which we are doing on the ground which I will not say to the media because we do not want to give our full operational strategy to those who may have him captive. But we are on the ground and we are doing several things to be able to return him safely home to his family.”

“Sir, can you say definitely that the police department knows that this gentleman is still alive?”

Chester Williams

“Well I cannot say with certainty at this time, but I know that two days ago, his wife spoke with him and he was in good spirit and good health. So we are hoping and praying that he is alive and we are trying our best to return him safely to his family.  We must be concerned. We do not want Mister Campos to suffer the same fate as Mister Cervantes and that’s why we are doing what we can to be able to locate him in good health and return him to his family.”
