Tony’s Store in Belize City Targeted by Robbers Dressed as Students

On Tuesday afternoon, a brazen robber was caught while attempting to flee from the scene of a jacking at DK Supermarket.  The culprit made off with a bottle of top-shelf liquor, abandoning his bicycle near the entrance of the store.  But he didn’t get quite far before being captured by Belama police and members of that community.  The same cannot be said for Tony’s Store on Daly Street which was hit by thieves on Thursday afternoon.  The pair of men concocted a slightly more ingenious plan, dressing in high school uniforms and posing as students.  They then entered the business and proceeded to rob the store manager of an undisclosed sum of money.  While details of the incident are sparse, News Five understands that the marauding duo made good its escape.  Police are investigating. The owners of Tony’s Store declined interviews.
