Sand Hill Resident Arraigned for MoneyGram Robbery
A construction worker from Sand Hill, Belize District, appeared today before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford and was arraigned for robbery to which Jiovanni Augustine pleaded not guilty. Since the offense was committed with a firearm, bail was not an option. Augustine was remanded into custody until August twenty-eighth for the incident which occurred on June twenty-fifth in Ladyville where MoneyGram, located on Ramon Plaza, was robbed. An employee, Nekeisha Martinez, told the police that she was at work when a man dressed in a security officer uniform held her up at gun point and demanded money. She gave him four thousand dollars in cash.
