Woman’s body found on Ambergris

One week after she was reported missing, the nude body of twenty-five year old Genovea Campos was found in some bushes in the vicinity of here home. According to police, Campos, who suffered from mental illness, resided with her father nine miles north of San Pedro on the island of Ambergris Caye. On July fifteenth, the family reported her missing, but it was not until around 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon, that the girl’s father came upon the gruesome scene. The police say the body displayed several bruises around the neck and they suspect she was murdered. It is not known at this time if Campos was also sexually molested before she was killed, but authorities say a post-mortem is being conducted. At this time, police do not have any suspects.
