Summer Camp for South Side Kids
Youths Creating Talent is hosting a one-month free of cost summer camp for children on the south side at the Cumberbatch Field. The grassroots organization says that they have received overwhelming registration for the programme and are asking for the business community’s support to put on the programme for the children. The camp’s coordinator Justin Gill spoke to News Five about the initiative and how you can help.

“We were actually catering for sixty kids and now we have a total of one hundred and fifty kids. So, the summer camp starts on July sixteenth and ends on August seventeenth. It is a one month program for two-year-olds to age twelve. This entails a curriculum that we are using from the Ministry of Education. It entails language arts, mathematics, Belizean History and we are emphasizing the expressive arts. It also entails a feeding program so they will get refreshments and breakfast. We want to appeal to the public if they want to give us some support, if any business would like to help us, they can give us a call or come to the Cumberbatch Field in the south side area of Belize City.”
