17-Year-Old Stabbed in Hope Creek

A seventeen-year-old is recovering from stab wounds after he was brutally attacked in Hope Creek Village on July second sometime after ten-thirty in the morning. Police say that a group of young men in the village have an ongoing beef and targeted Jose Salinas.  The suspect is a fifteen-year-old, but no one has been detained. ACP Joseph Myvett, provided details about the stabbing incident in Stann Creek.

“Dangriga Police responded to an incident in Hope Creek where upon arrival, one Jose Salinas was seen with three stab wounds to the back. Initial police investigation reveal that Salinas had alighted a passenger bus just around ten-thirty when he got into an altercation with another male person who inflicted the said injuries. Police are seeking one suspect in connection with this stabbing incident.”

“Do you know what may have led to this incident?”

“No. We know that it was an altercation between the victim and another person. The other person who had caused the injuries – there seemed to be several altercation among the youths in Hope Creek Village which the police is in the process of addressing with mediation.”
