An Elderly Expat in Toledo District is Victim of a Home Invasion

Joseph Myvett

A shooting took place in the City early on Friday afternoon and luckily two persons who were injured were treated and released from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. It happened at about one-thirty at the house of thirty-seven year old carpenter, Kenrick Sanchez, on Lakeview Street.   Sanchez was hanging out with friends when a pair of thieves entered the dwelling.  One of them was armed and demanded that the group hand over their possessions.  When the victims fought off the would-be thieves, the situation escalated and shot were fired. Two of Sanchez’s friends were injured and a window was damaged.  There is also another home invasion to report on which took place in the Toledo District over the weekend.  On Sunday morning, the home of Garyl Caps, an American expat, was stormed by a trio of thieves.  Police provided additional information.
