16,670 Re-registration Applications, So Far
Since last week Monday, sixteen thousand, six hundred and seventy applications have been received by the Elections and Boundaries Department as part of the mass re-registration exercise. A release from the department says that the figures of the first week show that the re-registration exercise continues to proceed on target. With an eight million-dollar budget, the department has identified registration centres throughout the thirty-one constituencies. Scrutineers from both major political parties have been invited to be present at the centres and observe the process. The exercise ends on August thirty-first after which applicants will need to visit the offices of the Elections and Boundaries Department countrywide in order to register.
