Jamaica’s Fab 5 arrives for concert
Hits like Ring Road Jam, Good Buddy, Yu Safe and Mini Mini could only belong to Jamaica’s Fab 5 band. The seven-member group is making its debut appearance in Belize at the City Centre on Saturday for one night only. Lead singer and drummer Grub Cooper says the thirty-two year old group has lots in store for Belizeans.
Grub Cooper, Lead Singer/Drummer, Fab 5
“Well expect the best naturally, and they would have not seen a group like this group ever because we are extremely versatile. And from Jamaica you wouldn’t find another group that really does what we do. We play right across the board from ska right up to the latest dancehall songs.”
Ann-Marie Williams
“Do you write a number of the songs?”
Grub Cooper
“Yes I write a lot. The inspiration comes from different situations. Sometimes on an aircraft, sometimes being down by the beach.”
Ann-Marie Williams
“Let’s take “Mini Mini”.
Grub Cooper
“Mini Mini” was solely a fashion thing because I love mini. I think it is the sexiest fashion that man has designed for womankind and I felt compelled to write about it.”
Fab 5 rocks the City Centre starting at 10:00 on Saturday night. Tickets are available from Love FM and at the door.
