Convict escapes, recaptured in Ladyville
It would have been one more headache for a law enforcement community already suffering from a massive migraine… But fortunately, disaster was averted last night as police and prison officers captured a convict who had escaped from Hattieville that afternoon. Officials from the Department of Corrections report that around 1:30 on Monday twenty-year-old Chester Norales managed to depart the prison compound while out in the yard for recreation. A manhunt was launched and Norales, who was five years into a twenty-year sentence for manslaughter, was apprehended at around 8:30 p.m., walking on the Northern Highway near Ladyville. Superintendent of Prisons Errol Gentle told News 5 that they are conducting an investigation of how Norales managed to escape and who may have helped him in the breakout.
