Another winner catches Courts cash
Okay, so by now the sight of Belizeans in a glass booth frantically grabbing slips of paper isn’t unusual, but it’s still pretty funny. Today, News 5 was invited to the Courts compound on the Northern Highway to watch six more people try their hand at catching the cash. Janelle Chanona reports.

This morning, six Courts customers donned their special overalls and nervously climbed into a confined cell to grab as much as two thousand dollars in store money. Everyone has a different strategy once inside and some even bring coaches.
Today’s big winner, Adela Mendoza travelled all the way from Independence and walked away with one thousand, five hundred and seventy-nine dollars.
Adela Mendoza
“I had seen how the first two people tried it and I saw it was on the floor.”
Janelle Chanona
“So what you gonna do with all your Courts cash?”
Adela Mendoza
“Spend it.”
Janelle Chanona
“On what? You know yet?”
Adela Mendoza
So much things…I have ideas.”
But while everyone got their fifteen minutes of fame, the star of this morning’s show was Mendoza’s three-year-old niece, Kimberly Jordan, who cried for her chance in the booth.
She didn’t quite get the concept of time up, but she made sure she hung on to her cash. And she got some, three hundred dollars worth…so does she get to keep it?
Anamarie Bennett, Ads/Promotions Exec., Courts Bze.
“Well I need to check with our finance director before hand, it’s not my call.”
Janelle Chanona
“But you’ll petition her behalf?”
Anamarie Bennett
“Of course I will.”

The next Catch the Cash promotion comes off in September.
