Convenience Store Struck by Armed Thieves in Corozal
Within the twenty-four hours, a group of four thieves would strike again, this time at a convenience store at mile sixty-nine on the Phillip Goldson Highway, also in the Corozal District. While the culprits were dressed differently, the police was asked whether there is a ring of robbers carrying out these robberies that have become a perennial issue in the north.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Information was received of a robbery at a convenience store located around mile sixty-nine on the Phillip Goldson Highway between Buena Vista and Santa Clara villages in a remote area. According to the information, four armed men, dressed in black clothing entered and demanded money from the cashier at the convenience store where an undisclosed amount of money was handed over and they then made good their escape into nearby bushes. In respect to this incident, police are also following several leads. The scene was processed from which certain information was gathered which we are following up on.”

“Sir is it possible that these two incidents are related given the fact that they are both in Corozal district?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“We are looking at that possibility; the two incidents are miles apart but the assailants were differently dressed.”
Duane Moody
“But there are four culprits in both cases…”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“Yes. Yes.”
