13-year-old hit with bat discharged from hospital
A teenager attacked by three men armed with a metal bat is at home tonight recuperating from head trauma and not a fractured skull as originally reported by police. Family members declined to be interviewed by News 5 today about the incident involving thirteen year old Jose Ayala, fearing retaliation. However, we understand that the men who hit the young boy were in fact looking for his older brother, Miguel, to kill him. Ayala complained of feeling dizzy today and will have to spend the next few days at home resting. The teenager was standing at the corner of Freedom Street and Unity Boulevard just yards away from his house, when three men approached him and asked for his brother. Not satisfied with his response, one of the men pulled out a metal bat and hit him to the back of his head. Tonight the slugger who hurt Ayala, and his two accomplices, are still at large.
